True Impact Outdoors for Veterans

True Impact Outdoors is a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting Veterans through purposeful outdoor experiences that promote connection, resilience, and personal growth. Recognizing the unique challenges many Veterans face during and after military service, True Impact Outdoors uses nature as a powerful setting to foster healing, camaraderie, and a renewed sense of purpose.


The organization provides Veterans with structured outdoor activities designed to encourage physical engagement, mental clarity, and peer connection. These experiences create an environment where Veterans can step away from daily stressors, reconnect with themselves, and build meaningful relationships with others who share similar life experiences. Programs emphasize teamwork, leadership, and mutual support—values deeply rooted in military culture.


True Impact Outdoors understands that the transition from military to civilian life can be complex and isolating. By offering Veteran-focused programming, the organization creates a welcoming space where participants feel understood, respected, and supported. Outdoor experiences are guided with intention, allowing Veterans the opportunity to reflect, build confidence, and rediscover strengths developed through their service.


Community partnership is an essential component of True Impact Outdoors’ work with Veterans. By collaborating with Veteran service organizations, healthcare providers, and local supporters, the organization helps expand access to outdoor programs while ensuring they remain responsive to the evolving needs of the Veteran community.


Environmental stewardship and responsibility are core principles upheld throughout all activities. Veterans are encouraged to develop a deeper appreciation for the outdoors while learning respectful practices that preserve natural spaces for future generations.

Strengthening Minds Through Purposeful Connection

At Integrated Psychiatry PPLC, we believe in holistic approaches that support mental well‑being and resilience. Through highlighting organizations like True Impact Outdoors, we recognize the impact of connection, purpose, and shared experiences in empowering veterans and first responders.

We have also established collaborative relationships with Adair County Hospital and Optum VA to support comprehensive, accessible mental health care for patients across the region. Through these partnerships, we support psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for rural, underserved, and veteran populations while ensuring continuity of care across healthcare providers and services. Our work with veterans helps provide specialized care for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders in coordination with VA care teams. These partnerships reflect our commitment to improving mental health outcomes through accessible, patient-centered care. We also help reduce barriers to treatment by managing insurance paperwork on behalf of our patients, allowing them to focus on healing and long-term wellness.

At TIO, we love all things outdoors, and with a deep appreciation for our nation's heroes, we are giving back to those who dedicated themselves to serving and protecting. Our focus is to offer outdoor activities to military and first responder veterans, allowing them a break from day-to-day challenges. Together Strong. Together Unbroken.
